The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we prepare for our next community events.
Thanks to every one who helped make the day a success.
What a fantastic turn out from our network!
Shamida www.shamidaethiopia.com provides high quality holistic care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, families, and the community. Thanks to Katie and her family for providing delicious home-baked brownies, cookies and cakes, as well as bracelets and facepainting! We raised over £230! It was wonderful to meet familiar faces from our community and to meet some new ones. We enjoyed some delicious jollof rice, jerk chicken and rice 'n' peas. As usual, the famous BPA rum punch went down very well! It was a beautiful day and the kids enjoyed running around and playing basketball in the playground. Thank you to everyone for coming and we look forward to seeing you next time.
The BPA would like to give special thanks to Steven for his inspirational speech about life in the community and the power of positive communityaction to make change.
Far from sugar coated, but Steven's communication and authenticity certainly resonated with our network including our young people.
Plenty of food for thought before the banquet of Caribbean and African food for our guests to enjoy!
EHBPA also invited guest speaker, Demitrius Nurse to share an update on Stop and Search activity in Hertfordshire along with information about how our network might get involved in the voluntary scrutiny panels - reviewing the application of Stop and Search in our area through independent panel review of police activity and incident handing.
EHBPA would like to thank all our network for engaging with our speakers and encouraging our young people to be involved.
And special thanks to our guests:
Steven Akinsanya , Guest Speak
Demitrius Nurse , Chair of Herts police scrutiny panel
Inspector Mark Collins
David Cooke
Nathan Howson
Lastly , thanks to Clarion Housing and residents association, support us to extend our network
